The TIES school Badge was designed to incorporate our philosophy, society, environment and goals as an educational organisation.
Our Badge
The badge is divided into four separate yet equally important sections contained within a circle.
The
top left quadrant of the badge incorporates the symbol for infinity which
has a two-fold meaning. Firstly it symbolises that learning is lifelong.
Secondly it is symbolic that we are all connected and equal regardless of
our diverse cultures.
Opposite this section depicts the origins of the English alphabet with the
symbol that is attributed to the letter A as the English language developed.
The lower left quadrant represents several concepts as related to the environment within which TIES is located. The southern cross signifies where Australia sits in the Southern Hemisphere and the world. The palm tree and waves represent our tropical setting in Townsville and our connection with the sea and land.
The lower right quadrant symbolises knowledge as attained through books and other means. Plant a seed of an idea and one day it will grow and develop into something beautiful.
Each of these sections are equally valued and contained within a yellow circle representing the sun which helps all life and also represents sunny North Queensland - Australia.
