TIES Correction Marker

Online Correction Marker

I have created an online version of our correction marker at TIES for all of our future online students. A correction marker is a document which teachers use to correct students’ writing. It is very important that you take an active role in all areas of your language study, which includes writing. When I say an active role, I mean you must take part in the learning rather than being a passive learner. Teachers at TIES use the correction marker as a way of engaging students in improving their writing.

An age old proverb comes to mind – it goes a little like this… ‘Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life‘. I guess the same goes for improving our writing in English. Some teachers simply write in the corrections for their students to read, which is kind of like like giving a man (sic) a fish… it only lasts a short while. On the other hand, teachers who use a correction marker are actually helping their students to learn from their mistakes, which lasts much longer.

Let me know if you have any questions below… You can also do a One on One online English lesson to help improve your writing via Skype with one of the teachers at TIES. We will use the correction marker to help you improve your writing. You can download the correction marker by clicking the image above or the link in this sentence.
